An Old Dress

Here's AnnCarter in a dress that I wore nearly 28 years ago as a baby...more video posts to come soon.

Well here's one new picture. I tried to load more but the "add new images" icon is not working when I click on it, so I'll try again later. AnnCarter is doing very well. She is so much fun to talk to and her smiles seem to be getting bigger and bigger. She's especially happy when she wakes up from her longer sleeping times in the morning. She'll just play in her bed and coo until I come to get her to feed. It's a great time for Marshall to play and talk with her a bit before he leaves for work.

Our First Trip

Here's a family picture taken about 3 weeks ago. I wanted to get one with AnnCarter in it (and Farmer). It's amazing that she will be 6 weeks on Wednesday!

This weekend we took our first trip together. Marshall had to work at a Horse Expo in Albany, OR. He was going to be gone 4 nights and I did not want to be apart that long with a new baby--for some reason, before he even left, I was missing him way more that usual when he travels. So AnnCarter and I decided to go spend a night with him. The drive to Albany takes about 2 1/2 hours and requires you to go over Santiam pass, which thankfully was pretty clear. I was a bit nervous about the drive because up to this point AnnCarter has not been a huge fan of her car seat. But I decided to go "armed" with a pacifier just in case (I haven't actually given her one yet--but sucking definitely soothes her). My worry was needless though. She slept almost the entire way there (she woke up hungry 20 min before reaching our destination), and then she did sleep the entire way home. I was thrilled! And she did great in the hotel room and at the expo--in fact it almost worried me how easy she was :-) I think that she's starting to acclimate to the world. I see her settling into herself and a bit of a routine more and more. I'm increasingly gaining confidence as a mom--the success of this trip was definitely a huge boost.

This is a great video-

So AnnCarter had her first experience in the pack-n-play today.  I put a mobile in with her that goes with a floor mat she has and she loved it!  I was amazed at the attention she gave to the music and the lights--many smiles and coos as a result.  I just watched and talked with her and took many videos :-)  This is a short highlight of our afternoon.
