AnnCarter Learned to Roll Over! (July 5th)

Developments

In addition to all of the traveling we've been doing this month, AnnCarter has really been transitioning into a new phase of babyhood.  She went through a week of being really quiet (which kind of freaked me out), but as soon as her cousins got here (in early July), she began hitting milestones left and right.  She started talking a lot (she imitates the "mama" sound frequently and has just started learning the "dada" sound), and she learned to roll over!  One day I left the room for literally 5 seconds.  I came back and she had turned from her stomach to her back.  The funny thing was that every single member of the Teague family (except me) had been in the room where AnnCarter was and no one saw it.  But she was kind enough to repeat it several more times.  I'll post that video soon.

AnnCarter is also very into reaching for objects to play with.  While sitting in her Bumbo, she's always looking for the most interesting item within reach. I've recently gotten her an exersaucer, which she loves bouncing and playing in.  She's also just as social as ever.  As we took different flights to North Carolina and back, she'd talk and "flirt" with whoever she could.  Thankfully she's still an excellent flier.

It's been fun to watch her develop. We increasingly have more fun with her! You can tell she has intentional thoughts now and is processing much.  Today, I started her on some solid food.  She took to it very well, though as to be expected, I believe more of it was all over her versus inside of her :-)

I'll continue to post videos throughout this week as I can of this past month.

One happy girl!

Mary Ellen made the cakes (with some assistance from my mom). This cake is in honor of Papa Bill's love for cutting and watering his grass, which at 89, he still does every week.

Mama Ernie and Papa Bill's grand entrance to the evening portion of the party.  A 40s style band came and played.  Mama Ernie and Papa danced the "Anniversary Waltz," my aunts and uncles put on a skit for their parents and we all reminisced.

Some of the crowd. I think there were close to 140 people (60 of those being my immediate family of aunts, uncles, cousins and now many great grandkids).

The Frank Love Band. (The gentleman on the far left was my mom's and all of her siblings band director back in high school.  His name is Mr. Deal.  I believe he's 90 now and still playing and imparting the love of music to others.)

The skit included a poem about my grandparents and their life, as well as old tunes sung intermitently throughout.

A thank you from both Mama Ernie and Papa Bill before more music and dancing.

Teague Girl Cousins!

The kids (Len and Jesse are watching them) played in the water--we'd decided to turn around early on the hike b/c of mosquitos--they were bad!  But playing in the water was fun :-)

Girls day--pedicures!

Teague Team Family Photos

July has been a crazy month!  Thus why I'm just getting around to updating the blog.  The Teague's were all in Bend at the beginning of the month and then Carter and I traveled to North Carolina for my grandparent's 65th wedding anniversary party.  Last weekend we went to a lake house with some friends here in Oregon (quite a different experience--it was chilly!), and we are preparing to leave for Tennessee on Friday for Michael and Griffin's wedding--yea!  It's been somewhat exhausting (for me) but really fun.  I wouldn't trade it.  Above are some pictures from all of our family adventures and trips.
