It's a girl!

Here are a few pictures of our baby girl! Most people thought that we were going to have a boy (our entire office voted that we'd have a boy the day we had the ultrasound except for 2 people), but we are so excited to have a girl. Experiencing the ultrasound was pretty amazing--it's incredible all you can see and check out. I have to say our technician did not have the best people skills--he told us the gender very abruptly...but everything is progressing well and she is healthy! As of this week, I'm halfway through the pregnancy which is strange to think. February seems far away, yet time is going very quickly. The morning after the ultrasound, I was getting ready for work and suddenly wished that the baby was here so that I could play with her :-) At the same time, I'm glad we have a few more months to prepare.

The Beginning of the Bump

Here are a few pictures of the shape my stomach is beginning to take--granted these pictures were taken after a fairly large dinner. I'm finding that my stomach kind of grows during the day and then shrinks a little during the night. In this picture I'm "holding in" my stomach as much as possible. At 17 weeks now, Marshall and I have been surprised by the sudden growth in my stomach. Even though most people really can't tell yet, it's growing more and more. And I'm feeling the baby move around now too. I wasn't sure at first but I'm confident now--it's a new feeling...so wierd to feel and amazing at the same time :-)

We tried to upload another Captain's Log a few days ago, but our video was too long. I'm sure we'll try again this weekend :-) Exactly a week from today we have our next ultrasound and will find out the sex of the baby!
